
Nicholas Baddeley is a versatile drummer, arranger, and bandleader based in Montreal, Quebec. As a founding member of the Border City Collective (modern jazz), Turntable Turnover (classic rock reimagined as jazz), and the Due North Trio (jazz), he has made significant contributions to the local music scene. Currently, Nicholas performs as the drummer for Canadian artist Karen Myatt and leads his ensemble, the Nick Baddeley Jazz Quartet.
In addition to his work as a performer, Nicholas has played in the pit for various musical theatre productions, including Stephen Sondheim’s Company (Kordazone Theater), Tom Eyen’s Dreamgirls (Arts Collective Theatre), John Cameron and Stephen Trask’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Mother Tongue Productions), and Gordon Leary & Julia Meinwald’s Pregnancy Pact (Edge Productions), which toured across Ontario.
Nicholas can be heard on recordings such as Nicholas Papador’s The Percussion Music of Jordan Nobles (contemporary), as well as projects by Karen Myatt and Drea Lake. He earned his Bachelor of Music Degree (Honours) from the University of Windsor in 2019.
